Our volunteer health workers in Nepal recently taught a group of over 150 villagers how to make this simple solution using a coke bottle to ensure the correct amounts of each ingredient. It is crucial to use the proper amounts since too much sugar can make the diarrhea worse and too much salt can seriously harm the patient. This is one of the many tools our volunteers use in the field in both Africa and Nepal to combat one of the most dangerous illnesses afflicting their communities.
