Seeds of health and hope

In the classic movie, It's a Wonderful Life, George Bailey sees how his small everyday actions impact the lives of others to build a stronger and healthier community. At HealthEd Connect, we are keenly aware of how every seed we plant, every program we promote, every training class we offer, every child we help educate, and every community member we empower, builds stronger communities.

You may not think about it every day, but your donations to HealthEd Connect make a profound impact on the lives and health of so many people!

New  tire-garden crops

What started with a few vegetable seeds in tire gardens at the schools, has gone viral.  Seeds of health and hope are being planted throughout the communities to bring better nutrition to many.

Celebration Time!

School is out in Zambia!  As with kids everywhere, the last day of school is a day of celebration.  It is an especially big event at our partner schools, however, since the usual lunch of porridge is replaced with an extra special meal.

The kafwa cooks arrived early to get the charcoal fires burning to cook rice (an expensive and prized food in Zambia), sausage (meat of any kind is a rare treat), and vegies (always a welcome food).  To top things off, each child received a a special yogurt-type Super Shake drink.

Mumba Emmanuel, one of the teachers reported, "a party was held to celebrate the accomplishments we have attained together in the year 2018 as a team. ... alot of activities were lined up to make the event more colourful. Such things like sketches, songs, poems .It was really a wonderful moment for all of us!!

Kasompe End-of-School Celebration

Similar celebrations were held in Kasompe and Zamtan where the children were equally as excited!!
