IRS
The IRS came knocking and we loved the message! We just received word we have been officially approved as a 501(c)3 not for profit organization. Yeaaah!

School lunches
Soy flour, maize flour, and charcoal have all been priced for school lunches for the kids. The average price per meal is about $.23 per child. What a bargain! We're eager to get the food programs going since many of the children come to school on empty stomachs and have trouble staying awake and concentrating on their studies.

Hands on Support!
Last weekend an amazing group of ladies (Left to Right: Patti Siebert, Laura Carnie, Rita Goehner, Jo Ann Townsend, Erica DaPonte, Rose Barcklay, Heidi McGrellis, and Vergene Mumper) gathered together to sew aprons for the health workers in Zambia! One lady purchased and donated all of the fabric. When the fabric shop owner found out what the project was all about, she reduced the price to 1/3 of the original cost. Being the perfectionists they are, the group decided they needed to wash and iron the fabric before making the aprons so the final products wouldn't shrink. An amazing 90-year-old volunteer stood at the ironing board for several hours patiently ironing the fabric!! Such dedication!
