Chipulukusu School Construction
We received a very detailed price list for construction of 2 classrooms for the Chipulukusu school today. The 150+ kids at the School desperately need classrooms. Right now all 4 classes K-3 meet in the same room. How's that for a quiet place to study?? The community has already dug the foundation trenches and now they've gathered cost estimates for construction. The total cost for 2 classrooms and a small office is projected to be $28,000 with the community contributing a significant part of the labor.

In the trenches
The community leaders in Chipulukusu have dug trenches for the foundation of new classrooms. No money, mind you, to complete the task but a huge desire to do what is within their power. We're now on the trail looking for construction partners.
Acts of Kindness
Wonderful people everywhere! An anonymous group of women who contribute to a good cause monthly have decided to contribute their donation to HealthEd Connect for the next few months. Random Acts of Kindness in action!

Sewers on board!
I just had an exciting call from Rita in Washington. She purchased 120 yards of colorful fabric and washed and ironed it all to make aprons for the health workers. Can you imagine ironing 120 yards of fabric?? In addition she's organized a sewing group of women who will meet this Saturday to make cobbler-type aprons. These aprons are extremely important to the identity and esteem of our volunteers. Thank you Rita!
What a Board!
We held our second meeting of the HealthEd Connect board today -- this time by teleconference. What a group! Not content with just reviewing policies. These dedicated people all step up and volunteer to be personally involved.
