Community empowerment

Workmen building Kasompe School
At first glance it appears the HealthEd Connect programs are benefiting only those directly touched such as the orphans and vulnerable children.  The web of empowerment and community building, however, reaches far beyond the first tier.  Theresa, our School Board Chair in Kasompe recently reminded us,
"The contractor hired 20 men to help him. He has brick layers, helpers, carpenters and an electrician.  These young men are from within the community. Yes very wonderful experience for them.  A lot of people have benefitted even businessman and they have a need to smile. I have just talked to the contractor, he says likely [the classrooms will be finished] by mid or end of January."
We're planning a ribbon-cutting in January for a truly community school!
